Split Calculator is a small, independent team of builders and writers. We make one thing well: a free, private split calculator that turns shared costs into a short, fair list of payments, plus the guides that explain how splitting works.
We are not a bank, a payment app or a lender. We do not hold money, process payments or sell data. The calculator runs in your browser, and what you type stays on your device.

Our Story
Why we built Split Calculator
Split Calculator started with a familiar problem: a weekend away, a shared spreadsheet nobody wanted to open, and a group chat full of half-remembered receipts. Every app we tried wanted an account, an email address, or a subscription before it would do some simple arithmetic. So we built the tool we wanted.
We launched in 2026 with one rule: a person should be able to open the page and get a fair answer in under a minute, with nothing to install and nothing to sign up for. Since then we have added 10 currencies, translated the calculator into 18 languages, and published 14 guides on rent, trips, restaurant bills, rounding and settling up.
We care about the details: clear typography, gentle motion and an interface that feels as good on a phone at a restaurant table as it does on a laptop at home. Split Calculator is free and will stay that way; the calculator will never be locked behind a paywall.
